About me

Sara Freedman's short plays have been produced in Oregon, Washington, New York, Kentucky and West Virginia. Her one-act play, Long Haul, was a finalist in the 2022 Tennessee Williams Literary Festival One-Act competition in New Orleans. Sara has a master's degree in writing from Portland State University and has been a copywriter for more than twenty years.

She’s been writing arts and entertainment articles since 2003 and her work has published in Best Places Portland, Bend Magazine, Eugene Magazine, The Source Weekly, The Portland Mercury and more.

Sara enjoys '90s Northwest indie rock, small-town parades, dive bars, local cookbooks, Shakespeare festivals and road trips with her trucker husband, Ian.

She was born and raised in rural Oregon and lives in Bend with Ian and two Irish Wolfhounds named Morrison and Arlo.
